This is NOT a beginner’s course. You must have completed a formal pistol training/qualification course. You don’t have to be an expert with your handgun, but you must possess a solid foundational knowledge on how to effectively use it. This course teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and to provide information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense at home, commonly referred to as the "Castle Doctrine".
This course strengthens skills ranging from safe concealed carry weapons handling and proper mindset to shooting while using cover and concealment and multiple shooting positions. This course strengthens the essential skills and techniques needed to prevail in a life-threatening situation. We normally only schedule this course 2 -3 times per year. Register now.

This is an NRA Handgun Training Course. The National Rifle Association (NRA) has been the proven leader in firearms training for rifles, pistols and shotguns since 1871. This NRA course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This eight-hour course includes both classroom and range time learning to shoot revolvers and semi-automatic pistols.
Some of the topics include: NRA's rules for safe gun handling; Pistol mechanisms and operation; Building pistol shooting skills; Pistol Maintenance, Handgun Selection based on Use; Ammunition types, calibers, and components; Shooting fundamentals; Range rules, Shooting from the bench rest position, and one and two-handed standing position shooting.

The NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Courses teach both intermediate and advanced level shooting skills. Each level completed earns a separate NRA certificate of training. You may attend level one only, or attend level one and two. This course allows you to train in ways most ranges will not.
Level one is a nine-hour course and offers the essential advanced skills that must be mastered in order to carry concealed, and use a firearm safely and effectively for personal protection in various public settings. Upon completion of level one, you may choose to attend level two at any time in the future with any NRA certified PPOTH instructor team.
Firearm Instruction, Responsibility, and Safety Training (F.I.R.S.T.) — is the NRA’s response to the American public’s need for We teach concealed carry training, ccw, in jacksonvillea firearm orientation program for new or returning pistol owners. This 3-4 hour class provides a thorough introduction to handgun safety, handling, and shooting skills. Designed for beginning and returning handgun shooters, course topics include: pistol safety, parts and operation; an introduction to ammunition and the fundamentals of pistol shooting; an introduction to shooting a pistol; and an introduction to pistol cleaning. Ownership of a handgun is not required; you can either bring a handgun or rent one of ours. This class is only scheduled three to four times a year maximum. If you wish to attend, register now. This course is both comprehensive and intensive in its approach to equip the Concealed Carry Permit Holder with the advanced-level defensive handgun skills needed to survive serious adversity.
Emphasis is placed on knowledge, skills and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and enables you to train for the intermediate and advanced use of a concealed carry handgun for self-defense outside the home. Students have the opportunity to attend this course using a quality strong side hip holster that covers the trigger, or a holster purse. From a review of safe concealed carry methods and handling, to proper mindset, to presentation from concealment and multiple shooting positions, this course defensive pistol skills and techniques needed to prevail in a life-threatening situation.
Level Two is an additional five (5) hours of on-the-range training and teaches advanced shooting skills. After the classroom portion, students should expect to spend several hours on the range and shoot approximately 100 rounds of ammunition during level one. Level two involves five additional hours on the range and approximately 115 rounds of ammunition. This is a minimum ammunition requirement and may be exceeded. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection Outside The Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure and the appropriate course completion certificates(s), NRA Basic Personal Protection Outside The Home (identifies strong-side hip holster or purse use) certificate, and NRA Advanced Personal Protection Outside The Home certificate.Note: The Lesson III of the Personal Protection In and Outside The Home courses Firearms and the Law, and Legal Aspects of Self-Defense is conducted by an attorney licensed to practice law within the state in which this course is given and who is familiar with this area of the law, a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) who possesses an intermediate or

More Details: This is an eight-hour course. You can expect to shoot no less than 150 rounds of ammunition while applying lessons learned. Lessons cover defensive shooting skills (shooting from cover, kneeling, prone, one and two-handed shooting and more), strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law, self-defense handguns, and continued opportunities for skill development. You will receive the NRA Guide to Personal Protection In The Home handbook, and course completion certificate. NRA Basic Personal Protection In The Home course is for law-abiding adult citizens who are experienced shooters (shooters able to show mastery of the basic skills of safe gun handling, shooting a group, zeroing the firearm, and cleaning the firearm) to maximize what can be learned from this course. Proof of shooting experience can be one of the following: NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA FIRST Steps Course Certificate, NRA pistol competitive shooting qualification card, military DD 214 with pistol qualification, or passing the Pre-Course Assessment.
